During the first Test being played against India, England's captain Joe Root became the third batsman in the world to complete 6,000 Test runs at the youngest. Root has achieved this feat while completing the 40th in England's first innings in the first Test match against India.

He is the 65th man in the world to complete 6000 Test runs and 15th England batsman. Root playing his 70th Test is just 27 years and 214 days and he is the youngest batsman to reach the 6,000 mark.

26 years 331 days and Root's partner Alistair Cook, secured the position 27 years and 33 days. Root, however, made a record of 6000 runs in 2058 days after making his debut in Test cricket, which is a record. Cook took 2168 days to record it, and before the route it was recorded on his name.
